...and so the maker of this blog taketh her leave...

Here ends the blog.

I'm moving to another xanga site.  If you wish to continue to be privy to my wacky thoughts and musings, leave me a comment to that effect and I'll let you know the new address.  Maybe...

I think too much.

I am so very fortunate.  That is all.

"you were there when I needed you...
you were there when the skies broke wide, wide open"

"To suffer and to be happy while suffering, to have one's feet on the earth, to walk on the dirty, rough paths of this earth and yet to be enthroned with Christ at the Father's right hand, to laugh and cry with the children of this world and ceaselessly sing the praises of God with the choirs of angels - This is the life of a Christian until the morning of eternity breaks forth."  -St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein)

I discovered this quote today and felt that it was fitting on the first anniversary of Pope John Paul II's death.

Requiescat in pace.

Dear Registrar's Office People,

I know that I must have interrupted you at a bad time today.  When I approached that little window which opens into your box-like office in order to politely inquire about what one should do should one be having trouble accessing Bannerweb, you were extremely occupied with the singular task of stuffing envelopes and chatting with one another.  Please forgive me for my intrusion.  I truly appreciated the way in which your student worker attempted to help me.  Because of that, I even tried to ignore the frosty tone of one of your Real Workers who butted into the conversation, seemingly with the intention of impressing upon me the contemptibleness of my ignorance.  I know that I must have frustrated you to no end by showing up again a few minutes later.  Let me just remind you that I tried to be as courteous as possible in every one of our exchanges while you saw fit to treat my questions with scorn from the very beginning.

May I suggest that in the future you can avoid any such contact with myself or other people confused by your unintelligible computer system by simply lowering that metal thing that hangs over your window?  That way you can all sit in your box and stuff envelopes or gossip or count paper clips or accomplish any number of very important tasks without disturbance.

Sincerely (sorry to be at your mercy for at least another year),
Sarah
